In the first episode of 2016 I share a checklist of things to be handled in your garden daily, weekly, monthly and after every harvest.

GROW FROM YOUR HEART PODCAST #113 Garden Checklist
Daily-
-Visually check each plant for bugs, molds or signs of deficiencies or over fertilization/correct if necessary
-Check to see if the plants need water. You can do this visually or by lifting up the pot and checking the weight
-Pull any dead leaves and put in a trash bag that gets removed from the garden area
-Check clones in domes for moisture and humidity levels, check for roots/correct/adjust/up-pot if necessary
-Check temp and humidity of the room/adjust if necessary…
40-60% humidity in Bloom Phase
60-70% humidity in veg
Try to keep day time temps around 70-77 degrees during the day cycle and 60-65 degrees during the night cycle
-Sweep the floor
-Check any equipment, hydro pumps, EZ Cloner pumps, dehumidifiers, mix pumps in reservoirs
-Check water level in EZ cloners and refill and adjust pH
-Check pH and PPM levels if you’re running hydro/correct if necessary
-Prune and train the plants into the shape you want for your grow space
-Lollipop any small crap while in flower. You can do this through week 4 and into week 5 once you get the hang of what to cut and leave
-Take notes on everything you do
Weekly—
-Start each week with a well planned feed in each room, Clones, Veg and Flower.
-Dust all fans
-Check the timers for proper time and function
-Calibrate meters
-Check all blowers and fans and make sure they are not clogged or restricted in any way
-Visually check the duct work and make sure everything is sealed up
-Clean air stones, they get murky
-Clean dehumidifier filter
-If you’re running hydro, clean out your reservoir every week to ten days and start with fresh water and fresh nutrients
-If you’re running EZ Cloners do the dame flush as a hydro it
-Dispose of your grow room trash carefully. Take the trash out in the morning before the trash truck comes if you’re using the local pickup co
-Look around the room, walls and ceiling for any mold or moisture issues and clean up/correct the cause
Monthly
-If you’e running hydro or have a feed system clean out the lines with an air compressor and blow out the clogs
-Clean A/C filters
-Test smoke detectors
-Clean glass in reflectors, this may need to be done more or less frequently depending on your room and how you spray
-Pay your electricity and water bills
Every Harvest
-Dispose of sticks and leaves left over from harvest
-Dispose of or compost or recycle soil carefully
-Dispose of rock wool cubes is running hydro
-Clean pots
-Clean hydro trays… The car was is a great place to scrub pots and hydro trays
-Clean the room thoroughly from top to bottom. Use H202, Bleach or Hydrogen Peroxide to sanitize the room
-Clean the floors and walls and ceiling
-Inspect any seals you’ve made. Any windows or doors you have covered need to be checked and resealed
-Clean sleeve around carbon filter
Yearly
-Replace carbon filters
-Have fire extinguishers inspected and replaced or recharged
You will need to work in a pest management system into this checklist. If you don’t see any issues a simple weekly application of an organic spray would be okay. If you see issues you may need to increase frequency of application and or the potency and active ingredient of your pesticide.
There will also be a point in time where you need to replace each bulb. In a previous episode we decided that we should swap out the HPS bulbs in the flower rooms every 1-3 harvests. I only use my flower room for flowering and the bulbs are replaced every 2 harvests.
